Here is a list of the current candy containers, holiday, and papier mache items we have shown in the different categories. Most of these were purchased in Germany. We have contacts in Germany who find these items in old house and stores. Most were made in the Thuringian region of Germany, which at one time was one of the top holiday and toy producing regions of the world. Many of these items were part of the cottage holiday industry in the eastern part of Germany which started in the mid 1800's and continued up until World War II. Because most of these items were made for export, many went out of business because of World War II and their stock was stored away. After the war this part of Germany went Communist and lost contact with the western world. Since Germany reunified many of these items have been found in very limited quantity and be now available for the collectors market.
